  In 1969 John Parrott founded the JP Group of Companies to provide specialist petrol forecourt construction services to the oil industry.

40 years later JP Group is now a national 150-employee £26m turnover company, still one of the largest petrol forecourt construction companies in Great Britain but with turnover now also derived from specialist fast-track construction work, industrial and commercial construction, demolition and decommissioning, housing development and equipment hire.

From its head offices close to the M5 in Tewkesbury, Gloucestershire, JP Group applies the same Safety and Quality standards to all of its projects throughout Great Britain. These high standards result in our high levels of repeat business from customers such as BP, Esso and Tesco.


Management Team

John Parrott - Chairman
John started the JP Group of Companies in 1969 as a result of a specific request from the oil companies to provide a tailor-made construction solution to their forecourt requirements. Having successfully serviced this market Mr Parrott took the strategic decisions to expand into other markets, such as petrol station decommissioning, industrial unit and fast-track construction work, housing development and plant hire. Mr Parrott's relationships have enabled the JP Group to build a customer-base second-to-none in the industry, including BP, Esso, Tesco, McDonalds, KFC, Kwik Fit, Brooklyn Motors and Cotswold BMW.

Martin Walters - Managing Director
Martin joined the JP Group in 1992 and has worked his way up through the company, initially joining as a bricklayer, and quickly progressing to Site Manager, Maintenance Manager, Contracts Manager and Director of JP Homes to his recent promotion to Managing Director of the JP Group. With a HNC in Building, and using his extensive knowledge of the construction process, Martin brings a highly practical and can-do attitude to the Groups' operations.  

Clive Nicholls - Director JP Construction Fast-Track Division

Clive has ultimate P&L responsibility for the fast-track division of JP Group, which specialises in fast-track construction services. Clive has trained and worked as a Surveyor on the professional side of the construction industry for 20 years before joining the company in 2002. During this period, Clive had sole responsibility for Quantity Surveying for a major petro-chemical company, which included their European benchmarking activities. This background experience now closely matches the fast-track programme of works undertaken by the JP Group.


Tony Gallagher - Health and Safety Manager

Tony Gallagher is responsible for ensuring the effective and efficient implementation of the Groups Health & Safety Policy. The Group's Health & Safety procedures are set out in the company's Loss Control Management System, which are audited and approved by Det Norske Veritas. Tony began his career in the extractive industries, moving onto the development of quality management systems in both precision and high volume manufacturing environments. Upon assuming operational control of Health & Safety, he went on to acheive NEBOSH qualification, actively continuing to develop his academic achievements. Tony joined the Group in 2006, and following internal promotion, Tony looks forward to developing the company's Health & Safety systems.

Jim Spratt - Financial Controller

Jim joined the company in August 2006 from Kohler Mira in Cheltenham. Jim brings a wealth of experience of larger corporations to the JP Group and will gradually strengthen its' policies and procedures. Jim became an associate member of CIMA in 1990 after gaining an honours degree from Trent Polytechnic.

Tim Deeks - Purchasing and Marketing Manager

Tim Deeks has been the Purchasing and Marketing Manager of the JP Group since 2001, although he has held various positions within the company since 1984. An HND in Building and a Diploma in Construction Management complement Tim's industry experience. His knowledge of the industry gained through his experience and through being a Committee Member of both the APEA Midlands Branch and the PEIMF prove invaluable in developing JP Group's marketing strategy.
