More Contract Awards - 29/07/2010
Latest contract awards include BP petrol station redevelopment works at Corby, Wolverhampton, Billericay and Central London, and also further petrol station redevelopments for Shell at Coleshill, for Spar at Northwich and private dealer sites at Stockton-on-Tees and Littleport.
JP Group Employee is a Life Saver - 09/07/2010
John Duffin, a JP Group site operative currently on a six week stay working on a petrol filling station construction project in Lowestoft, was a hero this week when he rescued a nine year old boy and an older man who had become stranded in raging currents close to Gorleston's Pier Hotel. John, aged 31, was walking down Quay Road when he heard screaming from the beach and stripped down to his shorts to dive into the water near the breakwater in front of the hotel at 8pm on Wednesday. The 6ft 4ins former rugby player, who is a strong swimmer, then summoned up all his strength to carry the child around his neck and the unnamed man, who was tiring from swimming against strong currents, in his arms through the sea swell and back to shore some 15 metres away. He said: “It is a nice warm feeling to think that I have done some good, but I think being put in that position you don't get time to think, you just react. “I did not realise how bad it was until I got out there. I have just got back from a holiday in Spain and there was quite a difference in water temperature, but it is something that you do in a heartbeat, you just do what you have to do.” He said the boy, named only as Connor, was in a petrified state and in tears, and the unnamed man, who had gone in to help rescue Connor, was losing consciousness. Mr Duffin had to swim with the pair for 30 seconds before he was able to get a foothold on the sea bed and walk them onto the sand. The young boy was treated for shock, and the older man also received treatment at the local hospital. John has worked for JP Group for four years, and we are proud that he has used his skills and experience to effect the rescue.
Latest Construction Contracts - 08/07/2010
Contract awards include petrol filling station redevelopments at Lowestoft, for BP at Billericay, for Shell at Northampton and Eltham, a new village hall at Rudford near Gloucester, and building works at Poeton Industries, Gloucester and Lansdowne Chemicals, Cricklade. Upcoming projects soon to commence also include petrol station redevelopments for private dealers and oil companies throughout England.
Graduation for JP Group Health & Safety Manager - 01/07/2010
Congratulations to Tony Gallagher our Health & Safety Manager on his graduation for the NEBOSH Diploma in Occupation Health and Safety which was presented by Judith Hackett CBE, Chair of the HSE and David Morris NEBOSH Chairman at Warwick University on 28th June 2010. Tony opted to study the Diploma via distance learning to limit the time that he had to take out of the operation. Tony has worked in Safety Management for over ten years and started his diploma studies in October 2007 and completed the qualification in July 2009 which is a considerable achievement, especially in light of the improvements he has made to safety management within the group since he joined us in October 2006. He hopes to achieve CMIOSH status later this year and intends to take a short break from his studies before completing an honour’s degree in Environmental Studies. Tony is now working on a very aggressive safety improvement plan which should see more excellent ideas come to fruition, including the development and implementation of quality and environmental management systems, additions to our in house training portfolio, improvements in record capture and reporting and the development of pre-populated risk assessments in a much improved format. This qualification and approach to continuous improvement truly reflects the organisations and Tony’s passion for pragmatic risk management. Once again this demonstrates both Tony’s and the JP Group’s on going commitment to improving Health & Safety, and providing a safe workplace not only for our staff and our client’s but also for the general public.

BuildingConfidence is a collaborative supply chain accreditation standard designed for the construction industry, providing an effective solution for managing supply chain risk in the areas of safety, sustainability, CSR, quality and financial stability.
Latest Contract Awards - 23/03/2010
Latest contract awards include a new build petrol filling station at Minehead for Morrisons, Shell petrol filling station redevelopments at Waterlooville and Tonbridge, retanking works for David Taylor Garages at Tonyrefail, and for BP at Perth. We are also undertaking MOT bay works for Kwik Fit at Swindon, further decommissioning works for Carillion on the A1 in Yorkshire, and forecourt decommissioning and reinstatement works for Martyn Beevor Skoda at York.
First UKPIA course - 21/01/2010
JP Groups' first UKPIA SPA course was presented on 14th and 15th January at our Tewkesbury offices. All eight delegates, including two BP Oil Risk Assessors successfully completed the course. Post course feedback included “all good”, “a very well run course”, “the whole course was informative and constructive”, “a fantastic course” and “the case study was great, it showed me how much I had learned over the two days”. Automotive Construction Specialist Company 2010 - 05/01/2010

Latest Contract Awards - 22/12/2009
December contract awards include Tesco Express store developments at Leamington Spa and Alderley Edge, petrol filling station redevelopments at Gosforth and Burwell, retanking for BP at Bracknell, and Shell forecourt works at Fleet and Hythe. In addition we are undertaking groundworks for Leadbitter at Trowbridge and structural works for Seckers at Bexhill-on-Sea. With a number of exciting new contracts on the horizon, the start of 2010 looks to be relatively buoyant.
Forecourt Trader Main Route Winners 2009 - 03/12/2009
We are delighted once again to be associated with winners of the Forecourt Trader of the Year Awards. Overall winner in the Main Route Category for 2009 is the Harry Tuffins petrol filling station and convenience store at Ludlow, Shropshire, which was built by JP Construction in 2007, this site was also the winner in the category for independant dealers with up to 9 sites. The Esso On The Run petrol filling station and convenience store at Hartlebury, Worcestershire completed by JP Construction this year, has won the Main Route Oil Company/Supermarket-Owned and Managed Award for 2009. The presentation event was held at London's Park Lane Hilton on September 24th.

Latest Contract Awards - 16/07/2009
Recent contract awards include new forecourts for Shell at Cheltenham and Swindon, shopfitting works for Iceland at Banbury, a new shop for BP including a Marks & Spencer Simply Food outlet at Oxford, and re-tanking for the same client at Kilmarnock. Meanwhile the BP pump upgrade programme continues on forecourts throughout the south of England. We are also currently undertaking MOT bay works for Kwik Fit at Swansea, Caerphilly and Newtown, Wales, and decommissioning works on a number of former petrol filling stations on the A1 in Yorkshire for Carillion. With a number of exciting new contracts on the horizon, the remainder of 2009 looks to be relatively buoyant.
JP Group secure Shell Motorway Services contract - 28/04/2009
We are pleased to have been selected as the main contractor for the new Shell forecourts at Tibshelf Services on the M1 north and southbound, near Derby. Work commences shortly on this 12 week contract.
Eco-Friendly Village Hall Completed - 20/03/2009
We are pleased to have completed the construction of the new eco-friendly village hall at Toddington, Gloucestershire. The multi-purpose hall utilises the very latest eco-technology to keep the buildings' carbon footprint to a minimum, and includes a ground-source heat pump, rainwater harvesting and photovoltaic panels. JP Group secure Car Showroom contract on Guernsey - 14/11/2008
We are delighted to have secured the contract to redevelop the Barras Car Centre at Vale on the island of Guernsey. Work will commence shortly on this scheme, which is the first time we have undertaken a project off the British mainland.

JP Group staff win Health & Safety Awards - 15/03/2007
Congratulations to John Parrott, Group Chairman and Phil Price, Site Foreman, who both won awards at the BP Global Alliance Awards Evening at Milton Keynes on 8th March 2007. Johns' award was presented for over 35 years safe service to the oil industry, whilst Phil won his award for the safe way he has undertaken maintenance works on live BP forecourts over the past 6 months. Well done to John and Phil.

JP Group wins BP Global Alliance Safety Award - 10/10/2005
JP Construction were delighted to receive the prestigious BP Global Alliance UK Safety Award for the “Most Proactive Individual” – awarded to Des Jones, Contracts Manager. Graham Sims, Head of BP UK Retail, presented the award to Des at the ceremony in Milton Keynes on May 3rd 2005. JP Group installs E-Vision software - 05/10/2005
As part of JP Group's strategic drive for efficiency and improved information, it has installed E-Vision's Build-It business software to update its software package. With a growing choice of construction software on the market, the decision-making team were impressed by Build-IT's flexibility and ease of use.
